When I was a little boy... ... I got in trouble on the last day of school. The teacher was really miffed (that's what they called it back in those days) and threatened to call my mother. (The "Go-to-your-room-monster" of my childhood).

Well, I couldn't figure out what to do. The next day was camp. If Mom found out what I did (with the teachers frog), well...

let's just say I would be camping alone in my bedroom for the next few weeks. So I sat there at the house all afternoon and into the evening.

Waiting for that moment when the teacher called. I nearly jumped out of my skin when the phone rang.

I ran over and picked it up before Mom could. Since Mom was listening I said "Who is it?". It was the teacher. Mr. Coldheart himself...

Mr. No Sense of Humor said... Mom and I needed to discuss something called the "relative merits" of childish pranks involving putting a live frog in the teachers lunch.

Mom was listening, so I kept going "ummm...ummmm.. ummmm" and finally I turned to her and asked, "Mom do we need a subscription to Guns and Ammo Magazine?"

Mom told me to hang up and take the phone off the hook. So I did.

P.S. Camp was great...
