I sent the following letter out to a few thousand of my closest friends on the internet  telling them that I had been invited to the White House to speak to President Bush.  I could hardly believe my eyes when I saw the replies.   Hundreds of people wrote back saying they had believed what is now considered one of the greatest hoaxes on the Internet.

Subj: BaddTeddy On TV Tonight With President Bush (WOW)
Date: 7/15/2003 10:36:33 PM Eastern Daylight Time

Wow, you folks are incredible...  You have worked so hard and so long that the impossible has happened.  I was invited to fly to the White House and not only speak with President Bush, but to actually debate him in a political forum in front of reporters.  They came to my house, icked me up and flew me to Washington in a private jet this morning.   Then I was taken directly to the White House, introduced to the President, they explained what was going to happen (wow, was I nervous) and then we went out and stood together in front of the reporters.  I was somewhere between scared to death and peeing my pants.  But I couldn't show it because there were reporters.  Lots of reporters. In fact, while most of the reporters were from newspapers around the country (and a few foreign ones as well), there were a few national TV news people there too.  ABC, NBC, CBS, FOX and CNN ( A three letter carnival if ever there was one).  I swear I wanted to pass out.  I'll never understand how politicians can keep their eyes open with all those bright lights, espeically all the flash bulbs.  I feel like I will never be able to see again.

Oh.... I am just to excioted to sit here and talk. I need to call my family, my friends, everyone and tell them about this.  I CANT BELIEVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I need to go make calls... But I wanted to tell you about it.  Oh darn I am so confused, I don't know what to say. I'm rambling and stumbling thru my words. I have never felt like this before.  UNBELIEVABLE..........!

I don't know what time or what channel.  They taped it but people there said some might use it for the news tonight.  Others might use it for the news tomorrow.  Others might save it for one of their political story segments and a few I am sure will probably do the old polictical dump and just flush it down the toilet.....

I'm almost ready to cry.  It's so embarassing to have lost control of my emotions like this... I feel like I'm insane saying all this.  I'm afraid no one will beleive me.

Oops... Geez am I stupid... They gave me a picture. Hang on.... OMG I think I'm gonna start crying again.... You are not gonna believe this.  I was there.. And Istill dfont belive it... OH jeex.. my typing is terrible... and I dont have time to spel chekc this... I'm so nervous I cant think, I cant type, I cant sit in ma chair and I cant stand up either.  Oh wow this is embarassing. I am crying so hard now. The tears are just pouring out of my eyes..... (Here's the picture of me and Bush together at the White House)

Yep, I'm just sitting here laughing so hard that there are tears coming from my eyes thinking about your reaction when you saw the picture....... lol
