GREAT NEWS.......... My son, Marc Copeland, who has been missing for a year and a half was spotted in the Ensenada area (Campground Mona Lisa in Baja - Mexico) in March 1999. Unfortunately, a leak enabled Sean, his father, to escape again. He might have been seen in Chapultepec (near Ensenada) and in San Diego last July. These details have only reached me recently.

I believe that Marc and his father are still in Mexico, perhaps only now and then. There have been a few leads in the USA and some movement on Sean's (the kidnappers) passport towards the Bahamas and Canada.

The picture of Marc (above) was taken in November 1998 by a lady who had spent some time with Marc in Mexico for Thanksgiving.

My name is Berengere, I need your help finding my son Marc

The day I gave birth to Marc was the happiest day of my life

If everyday, could be as happy as this one, our lives would have been perfect

Just one look his adorable little face and anyone would love this little guy

Common folks, you gotta admit that this is a face any parent would love

Marc absolutely loved to go to the beach with me

Since Marc's father had decided to leave France

To go to school in the US

Marc and I spent most of his childhood alone together

Sean, Marc's father, was to busy to even be there with me on the day that Marc was born.  Sean never made the effort to come see his son, so several months after Marc was born, I traveled to the US so that Sean could see his son for the first time.

I tried to make Marc's childhood as happy as possible

I'm not really sure how much of what has happened Marc understands. For many years his father ignored him.  Instead of trying to make a happy family with his wife and son, Marc's father was gone much of the time.  We lived in France, but Sean could not seem to make up his mind where he wanted to be, and what he wanted to do with his life.  So living much of the time alone, Marc and I grew closer, hoping that someday Sean would settle down and we would be a happy family of three.

Finally, Sean decided he was moving from France and taking my son with him.  My little boy, my happiness, my son who I had raised almost completely alone.

It took several years, but I now have full custody of my son in the US and in France.  But, now that I have custody, Sean has gone into hiding. Despite everything, Sean who had refused to be home on the day that Marc was born, has kidnapped my son, refusing to ever let me see my little boy again.

I just hope that Marc, where he is knows how much his mother loves him....

Mark Herbert Copeland was kidnapped on Aug 8, 1998 from Dillsboro, North Carolina (near Sylva - Jackson county) prior to a custody hearing.

Marc is 6 years old, has blonde hair, blue eyes, weighs 60 pds and stands about 4'3". Marc had chicken pox at the time of his abduction and has chickenpox scars on his back and neck.  He also has a gap between his front teeth. He loves the beach, soccer, base-ball and mountain biking.

PLACES TO LOOK AND PLACE POSTERS

While Marc could be anywhere in the US, there is a high probability that his father (Sean Copeland)  is working at trade shows and fairs making leather products such as belts, leather jackets and cowboy boots. In the past, he has worked primarily with Harley Davidson type leather products.  Please post posters of Marc and Shawn at trade shows and fairs  across the country, and especially in the states of

NC (Sylva, Cherokee, Dunhill, Charolette), SC, GA (McDonough), TN, CO (Gunnison, Denver, Colorado Springs), AK, FL (Boca Raton, De Land, New Smyrna Beach, Daytona Beach), ND/SD (He has been at trade shows on ND and SD in the past), CA (Sean has an uncle in the desert part.

Note:  Sean and his family normally go to the Daytona Beach Rally in January or Febuary
